Actress Digangana Suryavanshi has hit back at accusations of extortion and breach of trust levelled against her by Manish Harishankar, director of the web series Showstopper. Suryavanshi has filed a defamation case and a police complaint against Harishankar, strongly denying his claims.

She claims his accusations are an attempt to deflect blame for his inability to sell the show after two years. According to the statement, Suryavanshi secured Akshay Kumar's permission to appear as a presenter for 'Showstopper' under a formal business contract. However, Harishankar allegedly failed to fulfill his obligations under the agreement.
The lawyer further clarifies that the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) drafted between Suryavanshi and Harishankar was a legitimate business document, not a tool for extortion. Suryavanshi reportedly fulfilled her obligations by securing the presenter but faced further delays due to creative changes requested by Harishankar.
